President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officiated the commencement of construction on the M. Muli–Naalaafushi Causeway Project. The inauguration ceremony was held today in M. Muli to mark the beginning of this transformative infrastructure initiative.

This 565-metre causeway is being developed as part of the President’s electoral pledges and is scheduled for completion within 600 days. The project scope includes road construction, tarring, installation of street lighting, 112 metre of revetment, and a 15-metre groyne.

Once completed, the causeway will significantly improve connectivity between Muli and Naalaafushi, enabling centralised service delivery, resource sharing, and integrated development. Additionally, this causeway will also enhance economic opportunities and strengthen social ties between the two islands.
