The First Lady, Madam Sajidha Mohamed, graced the first working session of "Anhenveringe Sallaa" at Isravvehinge Naadhee Hall today.
The first of its kind, "Anhenveringe Sallaa" is organised by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, specifically for Women's Development Committees (WDCs). The discussion features participation from 59 members representing WDCs from Malé City, Malé Atoll, North Ari Atoll, South Ari Atoll, Felidhe Atoll, and Mulaku Atoll.
The purpose of the discussion is to strengthen and empower the WDCs established in cities and islands under the Decentralisation Act of the Maldives. It will address challenges faced by the WDCs, explore potential solutions, focus on ways to empower these committees, and consider initiatives that they can undertake to empower women.
The discussion will be held in Malé from April 29 to 30, 2025.
