His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, and His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, held official talks today as part of President Dr Muizzu’s ongoing official visit to Malaysia.

The official talks, led respectively by President Dr Muizzu and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, took place at the Putra Perdana, Putrajaya.

At the official talk, the President expressed his gratitude for the invitation, warm welcome, and generous hospitality. He emphasised the importance of maintaining positive momentum in cooperation to ensure mutual growth and a long-term partnership, as both countries explore opportunities to strengthen their bilateral relations.

During the official talk, the Prime Minister of Malaysia highlighted the key areas identified by the President for collaboration. He affirmed Malaysia’s commitment to considering these areas to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Speaking at the meeting, the Malaysian Prime Minister highlighted Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that are scheduled to be signed during the official visit, noting that these initiatives will benefit relation of both countries and expressing hopes for further cooperation.

President Dr Muizzu also expressed his appreciation for Malaysia’s flexible visa arrangements for Maldivian citizens. He noted the importance of bringing innovations from Malaysia to the Maldives to support the country’s digital development efforts. The President expressed hope to deepen and expand cooperation in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity for the mutual benefit of both nations.

Both leaders conveyed optimism that the bilateral ties between the two nations will continue to strengthen in the future.

President Dr Muizzu witnessed the Exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Exchange of Notes following the official talks.
