His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was welcomed with an official ceremony today in Putrajaya, marking the beginning of his official visit to Malaysia.
The President was warmly received by His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The ceremony commenced with the presentation of the First Salute by the Guard of Honour, followed by the playing of the national anthems of both countries. President Dr Muizzu then conducted an inspection of the Guard of Honour, after which the Second Salute was presented.
After the military honours, President Dr Muizzu and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim took part in an introduction session. During this, the President was introduced to Malaysian cabinet ministers and senior government officials, while members of the Maldivian delegation were introduced to the Prime Minister.
The two leaders then proceeded to a photo opportunity, with the iconic Masjid Putra serving as the backdrop. As part of the ceremonial protocol, President Dr Muizzu also signed the Visitors' Book.
The Maldivian delegation included several Ministers and the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Malaysia.
Ambassadors from various countries residing in Malaysia attended the official welcoming ceremony.
