The National Awards Committee has announced that nominations are now open for this year's National Awards, with the submission period running from today until Thursday, May 29, 2025.
This year, the National Award nominations include a newly added category: Patisserie and Baking. Within this field, the committee will consider contributions to cake making, advancements in cake decorating artistry, and the creation of pastries and various desserts.
The National Awards to be presented are the National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition. For the National Award of Honour, the President will present a shield, a badge of honour, and a commemorative certificate. For the National Award of Recognition, the President will present a commemorative plaque and certificate.
National Award application forms and required supporting documents can be submitted either through the online portal or by delivering them to the President's Office. If applying online, submissions should be made via https://apply.presidency.gov.mv. If applying in person, completed forms and supporting documents should be delivered to the reception desk at the President's Office.
