President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that individuals who were previously allocated land from Gulhi Falhu areas yet to be reclaimed will now receive plots from the already reclaimed area. Registrations will be completed within the next two to three months.

He made this announcement during his ongoing tour of South Nilandhe Atoll while meeting with residents of Meedhoo.

During the meeting, the President revealed that the land use plan for Gulhi Falhu has now been amended. He assured residents that marking, demarcating, and handing over plots to recipients would be completed within two to three months. The President clarified that the only exception would be for those allocated land in the area designated for bridge construction.

Addressing the Giraavaru Falhu issue, President Dr Muizzu confirmed that his Government would cancel the agreement made by the previous administration and assume responsibility for the land reclamation work. He promised that upon completion, he would fulfil his pledge to those who had been allocated land in that area.

Referring to Uthuru Thila Falhu, the President stated that to resolve housing issues, 125 hectares of the lagoon would be reclaimed this year and completed by next year. He also confirmed that reclamation work in the Hulhumalé lagoon would be finished by July this year.

Additionally, the President announced that the issues surrounding the flat allocation list have been resolved and assured that the list would be published before the end of this week without further delay.
