President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday morning, has departed on a three-day visit of the North Maalhosmadulu atoll.
The President is set to tour several islands of the atoll, as well as holding meetings with the Atoll and Island Councils, Women’s Development Committees, and senior figures at institutions of the islands. He is to inquire about the unique developmental needs of each island and citizens.
During this tour, the President will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands, including the commencement of ATM service, as part of the Administration’s pledge to facilitate easier access to banking services across the nation. He will also lay the foundation for new Council premises and inaugurate NID and passport services.
The President, on the three-day visit, will tour the islands of An’golhitheemu, Hulhudhuffaaru, Innamaadhoo, Kinolhas, Maakurathu, Maduvvari, Fainu, Rasgetheemu, Rasmaadhoo, and Un’goofaaru.
This tour is part of the President’s pledge from 2024 to engage with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities.
The President is accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials on this tour.
The tour is to be completed on Thursday.
