Mrs Darrilyn Dawson, Spouse of the Governor of Western Australia, Hon Chris Dawson, paid a courtesy call on First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed, at the Official Residence of the President, Mulee'aage, on Tuesday.

The First Lady welcomed Mrs Dawson and wished Governor Dawson and her a pleasant stay in the Maldives. She expressed appreciation for the close cooperation between the Maldives and Australia.

During the call, the First Lady and the Governor’s spouse discussed education sector development, in both the Maldives and Western Australia, focusing on the historical development of education, learning opportunities for children and girls, and the importance of inclusive education. They also talked about the growing number of Maldivian students pursuing higher education in Australia, and the Australia Awards scholarships.

Mrs Dawson commended the First Lady for her active role as First Lady, as well as her significant contributions to the health sector.

The meeting concluded with both expressing confidence in the continued cooperation between the two nations.
