President Dr Mohamed Muizzu emphasised that this year Government will actively work to fulfil the promises made to the people of the islands and the commitments outlined in the manifesto. He made these remarks while addressing the residents of Hoandehdhoo Island.

The President stated that finding a permanent solution for beach erosion and swell wave surges in Hoandehdhoo will be included in this year's budget. He also emphasised the importance of advancing education and health sectors, stating that efforts will be made to establish various sports facilities on the island.

The President remarked that the Government is dedicated to helping councils generate revenue. He mentioned plans to promote inter-island tourism as a means to increase financial resources for these councils.

During the meeting, the President assured attendees that efforts would be made to carefully address the various issues facing Hoandehdhoo. He noted that housing and road construction, following education, would be prioritised in the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) projects this year. The President also committed to fulfilling the promise of developing the Hoandehdhoo road within this year.

The President stated that this year's budget will prioritise housing projects, including those on islands. He also mentioned that the housing project in Hoandehdhoo is part of this year's plans.

In addressing the community, the President affirmed that all his promises would be fulfilled.

During a meeting today with the residents of Hoandehdhoo Island, the President officially inaugurated the island’s water and sewerage project.

Additionally, the signing ceremony was held for the establishment of a Bank of Maldives ATM on Hoandehdhoo Island.
