President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Abdul Haseeb Ismail of Hulhumalé Hiyaa, 11-23-05, as a member of the Elections Commission.
The President appointed Abdul Haseeb Ismail to the Elections Commission membership in accordance with Article 167(a) of the Constitution, which establishes the Elections Commission, and Article 168(b) of the Constitution, along with Article 4(a) of Law No. 8/2008 (Elections Commission Act).
The letter of appointment was presented to Abdul Haseeb Ismail by the President during a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
Prior to the presentation of the appointment letter at the ceremony, Abdul Haseeb Ismail took the oath of office as a member of the Elections Commission in front of the President.
The oath was administered by Honourable Dr Azmiralda Zahir, Justice of the Supreme Court of the Maldives.
