President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Government will continue to progress whilst overcoming both deliberate and circumstantial challenges, with the grace of Allah.

The President made these remarks whilst speaking to the people of Dhan'gethi during his ongoing visit to some islands in South Ari Atoll, referring to the fire incident that occurred in Male' City on Thursday.

The President said that the incident which destroyed the buildings of Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development, Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy was one that deeply affected him personally. Noting that the three Ministries and Male' City Council were institutions where he had served at different times, he said it was devastating to see these buildings, where so many staff had worked over many years, burn down, crumble and collapse to the ground.

Nevertheless, the President faced this challenge with great courage, and as a result of the continuous work that began Thursday night with everyone rolling up their sleeves together, he announced tonight that these Ministries will resume services at 8 a.m. on Sunday, God willing. The President also expressed gratitude to all those who worked to make these arrangements.

President Dr Muizzu also stated that rather than losing heart when faced with such challenges, he stands ready to serve the nation with determination, all while praising Allah.
