President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the Women's Development Committee (WDC) will not be dissolved and has pledged that the Government will make substantial efforts to strengthen the committees. The President made these remarks whilst responding to a question from a WDC member during a meeting at the North Ari Atoll Council Office this afternoon.
The meeting with the Ukulhas Island Council and WDC focused on discussing the most pressing needs of residents.
During the meeting, the Council highlighted several concerns, including a critical housing shortage. They also noted significant space constraints at both the Council Office and the school. Additionally, the Council emphasised the urgent need for coastal protection in erosion-prone areas.
During this meeting, the President shared with the Council the work being undertaken by the Government in collaboration with relevant institutions to facilitate the concerns raised by the Council.
Ministers accompanying the President provided comprehensive updates regarding ongoing development projects in Ukulhas.
