His Excellency Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Iran, His Excellency Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, as the Special Envoy of His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives.
Upon arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), the Vice President was received by His Excellency Dr. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran.
The inauguration ceremony of the President of Iran will be held on July 30, 2024.
The Maldives reinstated diplomatic relations with Iran on 10 March 2023.
