Following Parliament's recommendation, the President removes Ali Hashim as Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority and discusses with Parliament appointing Ahmed Munawar to the role

Pursuant to the recommendation of the People's Majilis and in accordance with Section 6(3) of the Maldives Monetary Authority Act 1981 (Act No. 6/81), President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has removed Ali Hashim from his position as Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

Further to this action, the President has formally proposed to the People's Majlis, the appointment of Ahmed Munawar as the new Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority, in compliance with the aforementioned Section 6(3) of the Maldives Monetary Authority Act 1981 (Act No. 6/81).

Ahmed Munawar previously served as the Minister of Finance and currently holds the position of advisor to the Minister of Finance.
