First Lady Sajida Mohamed has inaugurated the second term of the Maldives Women in Policing Committee. The inauguration was held at a special event at Iskandharu Koshi tonight.
Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady emphasised the significance of the Maldives Police Service, particularly highlighting the crucial role played by women officers. She underscored the positive outcomes resulting from women's empowerment and the expansion of their roles, emphasising the importance of their participation across various sectors within the police force.
During her speech, the First Lady expressed pride in the significant contributions made by women in the Maldives Police Service to the nation's security. She encouraged continued dedication to this role while stressing the importance of enhancing women's empowerment. She emphasised that empowering women further would enable them to effectively address various societal issues affecting women's experiences.
During the event, the First Lady introduced the inaugural edition of the monthly newsletter "Special Inaugural Issue" by the Maldives Women in Policing Committee. The publication was created and published by the committee.
Additionally, a moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the late Chief Inspector of Police, Mohamed Ziyad, who passed away earlier today.
