An MoU for the preliminary design and survey work of the bridge project connecting Hithadhoo to Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo in Addu City was signed today. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu honoured the signing ceremony, held during his meeting with the residents of Addu City’s Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo as part of his ongoing visit to Addu City, Huvadhoo, and Fuvahmulah City.
The President emphasised that this is one of the significant projects pledged by the Administration and noted that the expenses for the design and feasibility of the bridge will be funded by grants. He revealed that the project will be initiated within this year, and completed within four years. He additionally relayed his hope for the project to contribute towards enhancing Addu City’s economic prospects.
The preliminary design and survey of the Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo Bridge in Addu City have been assigned to The Arab Contractors. The Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Mutalib, signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldivian Government.
