President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided to allocate a plot of land in Malé City for the new Waqf Building. This decision followed a comprehensive discussion on a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs during a Cabinet meeting held on Sunday.
The Cabinet’s deliberations centred on augmenting revenue for religious activities through investments in new waqf facilities. In line with the Cabinet’s recommendation, President Dr Muizzu has directed the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to collaborate with the Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development to identify and allocate an appropriate plot for the new Waqf Building within a week.
