The President of Maldives, H.E. Dr Mohamed Muizzu, met with the Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, the First Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, H.E. Ding Xuexiang today in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
At the meeting, President Dr Muizzu expressed his desire to further strengthen the relations between the Maldives and China. Noting that China is one of the most important development partners of the Maldives, the President expressed hopes for enhancing Chinese cooperation towards the development of the Maldives in the years to come.
The First Vice Premier of China, H.E. Ding Xuexiang congratulated President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on the commencement of the new presidential term. He also reiterated China's commitment to maintaining strong ties with the Maldives.
The First Vice Premier of China further expressed optimism that the Maldives-China relationship will continue to thrive during President Dr Muizzu’s tenure, reiterating China's continuous support for the growth and prosperity of the Maldives.
