President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih approved on Thursday the allocation of flats to individuals who scored below 50 points in the Civil Service category and the allocation of 145 vacant flats from the Hiya housing scheme. The decision was made following recommendations from the Cabinet after deliberations on a paper presented by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Cabinet discussed the issue of providing flats to 45 individuals who were previously ineligible for allocation in the Civil Service category due to scoring below 50 points in the Hiya housing scheme. The permanent list does not include individuals who scored below 50 points in any category other than the Civil Service category.
The housing scheme allocated a specific number of flats for individuals working in technical fields in the Civil Service and Malé City Council. The Cabinet recommended allocating the 145 flats that have become available for various reasons following the order of the reserve list.
