President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih decided on Monday that a book of condolences would be inaugurated in recognition of the passing of the late Abdulla Jameel. The late Jameel was a distinguished public servant and prominent figure in state affairs and had been honoured with the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (O.D.R.I.). He passed away at the age of 87 on Sunday morning.
The late Abdulla Jameel dedicated a significant portion of his 54-year career to the President's Office. In his honour, the President decided to place the condolence book in the President's Office. Visitors may sign the book between Tuesday, June 13, 2023, and Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Arrangements would be made to facilitate the signing process.
The late Jameel served in the President's Office for over 14 years. He held several positions, including Private Secretary to the President, Executive Secretary to the President, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, and Minister at the President's Office.
