President Nasheed has said that the Government would do everything possible to make the hopes of the students of the Maldives a reality. The President made the statement, speaking at the ceremony to award the National Top Achievers in secondary school completion examinations in 2008.

Speaking at last evening’s ceremony, the President said that all the students aspire for higher education. Noting the limitations in the availability of higher education opportunities in the Maldives, the President said that the Government aims facilitate these opportunities for as many students as possible. President Nasheed stressed the need to increase the number of students who attain higher results in secondary school examinations and the availability of higher education facilities in the country.

Further, the President urged all the students to be humble in times of success and to show courage in times of failure.

President Nasheed congratulated all the top achievers in secondary school examinations. The President said that he rejoices the fact that many students achieved pass grades in these examinations and encouraged them to work for more success in the future.

At the last evening’s ceremony, the President presented the awards for six students who achieved the first place in the world, the students who achieved the first place in the national top ten in secondary school completion examinations. The President also presented the award to Ahmadhiyya School, the school with the best result in these examinations. Vice-President Dr Mohamed Waheed also presented awards at the ceremony to top achievers.
