Teaching is not merely a profession, it is an essential service. Through their invaluable contribution of educating our young they lay the foundations for national development. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih expressed these sentiments in a video message published this afternoon, celebrating the occasion of World Teacher’s Day 2020.
In his message the President also thanked teachers for the tireless efforts they made during the Covid-19 pandemic to educate our young, despite the challenges of the disease. He emphasized that the entire nation owes them a debt of gratitude for their diligence and sacrifice. The President ended his remarks with a prayer, asking Allah (swt) to bless all those who work in the profession of teaching, and to grant them success.
