Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with members of Kandoodhoo Island Council. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, members of Kandoodhoo Council shared concerns about the most pertinent issues and urgent needs faced by the residents of the island, including the need to upgrade the powerhouse and the electricity network. Similarly, as Kandoodhoo is an agricultural island, the Councillors also shared concerns raised by the farmers of the island with the Vice President.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem stated that necessary action will be taken after discussing with relevant ministries to address the specific issues and concerns raised by the Councillors. Highlighting the administration’s proposed amendments to the Decentralisation Act, the Vice President further urged the council to assume more responsibilities with proactive steps to address the issues and concerns of the residents of the island.
