President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today ratified the Third Amendment to the “Constitution of the Republic of Maldives”.

The amendment bill was passed by the Parliament on Wednesday, 28th November 2018, at the 15th sitting of the third session of the People’s Majlis.

Upon ratification, the Act has been published in the ‎Government Gazette.‎

As per the amendment, Article 109 (c) now states that the age qualification for election as President is “to be at least thirty-five years of age”.
