President and First Lady host official reception celebrating this year’s Independence Day

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have, this evening, hosted the official reception on the occasion of the Maldives’ 53rd Independence Day. The Maldives celebrates its Independence Day on 26^th of July.

At this year’s reception, which was held at Dharubaaruge, the President and First Lady met with those in attendance at the reception, and exchanged greetings in celebration of the auspicious occasion.

Among the many guests this evening were, Vice President Abdulla Jihad, Speaker of the Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Parliament, Diplomats, State Dignitaries and Ministers of State.
