President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the harbour of Kanditheemu Island of North Miladhummadulu Atoll, as part of his current visit to some islands in the atoll.
The ceremony held this afternoon. The harbour of Kanditheemu is 715 feet long and 300 feet wide.
Earlier today, the President visited Bileffahi Island and attended the ceremony to mark the completion of its beach protection project.
During his two day tour, the President will take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the airport land reclamation and the commencement of the runway project in Funadhoo Island. He will also inaugurate the sewerage system in Milandhoo Island.
