President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has revised and issued a new Presidential Decree concerning the State of Emergency that was declared on 5 February 2018, with reference to Article 253 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
In the revised Presidential Decree (No. 2018/4) issued today, President has specified that apart from the restricted and suspended Articles of the Constitution during the state of emergency that was declared yesterday, the new Decree (No. 2018/4) will restrict or suspend Article 48 of the Constitution which is on rights on arrests and detention.
