President Nasheed has said Faadhippolhu Education Centre had maintained good standards and consistently produced good results. The President made this statement while speaking at the function held today to mark the silver jubilee anniversary of the Centre.
Speaking at the function, the President congratulated the students, their parents, teachers and senior staff of the school on reaching the milestone of its silver jubilee.
Outlining the importance the Government attached to the development of education in the Maldives, the President said the government’s aim was to make every citizen a self reliant and independent individual. In this regard, he said the government’s education, social and economic policies were based on achieving this goal.
Further, he said that the government’s goal was establish wholistic education and to operate all the schools at single session. Speaking in this regard, the President announced that from next year, the Faadhippolhu Atoll Centre would be operated at a single session.
The President also said the first higher education school in Hinnavaru was planned to be established by seeking interested partners and through a market based approach.
At today’s function, President Nasheed presented certificates to people who had served the school for more than 20 years.
Earlier today, the President laid the foundation stone of the North Campus of the Atoll Education Centre.
The President has now arrived in Male, after concluding his visit to Hinnavaru.
