Senior Advisor to the UN Department of Political Affairs Calls on the President

Senior Advisor to the UN Department of Political Affairs, Mr. Tamrat Samuel paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this morning at the President’s Office.

During the meeting the President expressed appreciation for the commitment and continued support extended by the UN for political dialogue. The President also thanked Mr. Samuel for visiting the Maldives again to continue UN’s assistance in facilitating the Political Party Talks. The President and the Senior Advisor further held discussions to help the Government in moving forward with the Political Party Talks, initiated by the Government of Maldives.

The President was accompanied at the meeting by the lead representative for the administration at the political party talks Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee, and Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
