President Mohamed Nasheed this morning met with the team of eye surgeons of Israeli humanitarian organisation, Eye from Zion.

Speaking at the meeting held at the President’s Office, the President said a vast majority of Maldivians appreciated the humanitarian work of the doctors. He said, being a voluntary organisation, Eye from Zion could collaborate with local medical NGOs in the Maldives.

The doctors’ team said they were privileged and expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality they received in the Maldives.

They also noted that there was a great demand for their services in the Maldives.

Eye from Zion is an Israeli voluntary organisation carrying out medical missions throughout the world.

During the visit, the surgeons will conduct eye camps in Male’ and some other island hospitals.
