This evening President, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom visited Coastguard Ship “Huravee” which is currently docked in Maldives Ports Limited Harbour.
The President signed the Book of Dignitaries upon stepping on-board the ship. In the President’s message he stated that it was a great privilege to be on-board the coastguard ship which played a significant role in ensuring the marine security of the Maldivian territory. He further highlighted that the navy troops working on the ship carries a massive responsibility and expressed gratitude for their energetic work. President Yameen urged the troops to continue their responsibility truthfully and unfalteringly in serving the nation.
During the President’s visit to Coastguard Ship “Huravee”, he was presented with an international fleet review chart autographed by the President of India.
Minister of Defence and National Security; Hon. Adam Shareef Umar, Chief of Defence Force; Major General Ahmed Shiyam and Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives; His Excellency Mr. Akilesh Mishra also attended.
