President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has departed on an official visit to India on Sunday afternoon.
In this visit, President Yameen will call on President of India, His Excellency Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, and will hold discussions with Prime Minister His Excellency Mr. Narendra Modi. During the visit, India’s External Affairs Minister will also call on President Yameen.
The President will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Hon. Dr. Mohamed Shainee, and three Members of the Maldivian Parliament.
It is also noted that a total number of 8 journalists from Maldives are travelling to India to cover the events of the Presidents official visit to India.
