The Ambassador of America to the Maldives, His Excellency Atul Keshap paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this Monday morning. The meeting took place at the President’s Office.
During the meeting the President and the Ambassador held discussions about further strengthening of ties between the Maldives and America. While the Ambassador stated that he was tremendously impressed with the level of education, awareness and engagement of the Maldivian people, he and the President also discussed issues of economic, social and political significance during the meeting.
The President was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Dunya Maumoon, Foreign Secretary at Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
The American Ambassador was accompanied at the meeting by Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Mr. Manpreet Singh Anand
