A European Parliament delegation paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this afternoon during a meeting held at the Presidents’ Office.
The President briefed the delegation on the current political situation of Maldives and further discussed topics including the constitution, the role of law enforcement agencies and corruption in the Maldives. President Yameen further expressed his hope to continue a good working relationship with the European Parliament.
The President was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Dunya Maumoon, Attorney General Uz. Mohamed Anil, Minister for Legal Affairs at the President’s Office Uza. Aishath Azima Shakoor, Foreign Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
The European Parliament delegation included Member of European Parliament, Ms. Jean Lambert, European Union Mission and Member of the European Parliament delegation Mr. Paul Godfrey and European Union Secretariat and Member of the European Parliament delegation Ms. Kristin Arp.
