President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has attended the graduation ceremony of pharmacy assistants trained in 2014 and 2015. As the chief guest of the ceremony, the President took part in a group photo that was taken with the students who graduated. The function was held Sunday night at Dharubaaruge.
In this ceremony Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham addressed the attendees. In her speech, she stated that according to this administration's no child left behind policy, career opportunities and opportunities for further education were opened up for students who completed their schooling so that they may choose any pathway they desired. She also highlighted that these courses initiated by Ministry of Education, which were conducted by Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority and with the contribution of State Trading Organization (STO), were an exemplary initiation portraying the importance placed by this administration on producing Maldivians who were technical professionals. During this ceremony, Dr. Aishath Shiham announced two courses that were completely new to Maldives; Laboratory Assistant, Certificate level 3 and 4 courses and Radiography Assistant, Certificate level 3 and 4 courses.
The President was accompanied at the ceremony by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham and Members of the Cabinet, and senior officials of Government.
