President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated “Maldives Expo 2015” which is being held to mark the Golden Jubilee of National Independence. The President inaugurated this exhibition in a ceremony held tonight at Dharubaaruge. Upon the inauguration of the exhibition, the President took a tour and visited all the stalls.
This year's exhibition marks a significant milestone as it marks a return after a 12 year absence. Eighty five stalls are on view this year; divided into 38 categories. This exhibition showcases a variety of Maldivian crafts and sports significant to Maldivian culture.
A special awards function celebrating the creativity of the participants will be held tonight.
