New Slovak Ambassador presents credentials to the President

The new Ambassador of Slovakia to the Maldives, Žigmund Bertók has presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Tuesday morning.

At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Žigmund Bertók on the commencement of his term. While accepting the President’s congratulations, the Slovak Ambassador thanked President Yameen for accepting his appointment as the Slovak representative.

Meeting the new Ambassador, the President and the Ambassador noted the areas to be addressed in order to foster a good working relationship between the Maldives and Slovakia, especially in the areas of economic development and information technology.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, Legal Affairs Secretary at the President’s Office, Uza. Aishath Bisham, and Undersecretary at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer.
