Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor has said that the vivid imprint of Saudi Arabia’s cooperation was distinctive in the socioeconomic development of Maldives, in a number of fields ranging from infrastructure to education. The Vice President made this remark while speaking at the reception held on Thursday evening to commemorate Saudi Arabia’s 85th National Day. The National Day of Saudi Arabia is marked on the 23rd of September.
Speaking at the reception held at Paradise Island Resort, the Vice President conveyed warm felicitations to the Government and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of their 85th National Day. Vice President Adheeb also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality accorded by His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Government of Saudi Arabia, to President Yameen and the First Lady during their recent visit to Mecca.
Reflecting on the high points in Maldives-Saudi relations over the decades, the Vice President stated that His Majesty King Salman’s official visit to the Maldives last year was an embodiment of the ties of brotherhood and profound relations that bond the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Maldives. He also expressed his admiration for the enormous advances the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already achieved under the visionary leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in various aspects of development.
In his speech, the Vice President highlighted the special friendship shared between both countries, and reiterated the Maldives' commitment to a future of sustained and enhanced relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
