Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor has described China as one of the closest friends, and one of the most important development partners of Maldives. The Vice President made these remarks while speaking at the function held on Friday evening to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China.
In his speech the Vice President noted China’s immense contributions in various fields of development of the Maldives, since the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries in 1972. He also expressed his confidence for continuous mutual respect, trust and support between the Maldives and China in the future.
Speaking at the function this evening, the Vice President further underscored the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
