State Funeral for the late Uz. Abdulla Hameed were held this evening. The funeral prayer was held after the I’sha prayer at Masjid-ul Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu-al Auzam, led by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Following the funeral prayers, late Uz. Abdulla Hameed was laid to rest with full honours at the Galolhu Cemetery.
The funeral services were attended by members of the late Uz. Abdulla Hameed’s family, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor, Speaker of the People’s Majlis Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, Chief Justice, Hon. Uz. Abdulla Saeed, Members of the Cabinet, State Dignitaries, Members of the People’s Majlis, and Senior Officials of the Government.
The funeral prayer was also attended by a large number of members of the general public.
