President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and local businessman Champa Mohamed Moosa have laid the foundation for “Tree Top Hospital” by Tree Top Health Pvt. Ltd. The Tree Top Hospital will be a 170 bed tertiary level hospital in Hulhumale’.
At the ceremony held this morning, the President reiterated the Government’s commitment to support and assist those in the private sector pursuing such humanitarian initiatives. He also pointed out that the Maldives’ immediate goal must be to strengthen the economic sector of the country.
In his speech, the President said that when establishing goals to shape our future, we must be brave enough to face any obstacles that we might encounter. Continuing on, the President said that the Government’s main priority today was to realise the Government’s electoral pledges in a very short time. He also noted the need for the Government to make constitutional and other legal amendments, in working towards our developmental goals.
Speaking at the ceremony today, the President underscored that every major policy initiative will be met by opposing views. However, he said that we must be able to tolerate the conflicting opinions and move forward towards national growth.
