President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has officially launched the Independence Golden Jubilee Global Veterans Football Tournament 2015, as part of the serial events being held to mark the Maldives’ golden jubilee year of independence. The tournament will be held from the 3rd to 6th June 2015, at the National Football Stadium.
The opening match of the tournament was played between the Maldives and Singapore. The Maldivian team won the match by 2-1.
