President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mamnoon Hussain has hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. President Yameen is currently on a State Visit to Pakistan.
Prior to the state banquet, President Yameen and President Hussain held one-to-one deliberations on the further development of Maldives-Pakistan bilateral ties.
President Mamnoon Hussain also met with the Maldivian delegation accompanying President Yameen on his state visit. At the meeting, President Hussain extended a hearty welcome to President Yameen and expressed hopes that there would be more high level visits from the Maldives in the future. President Mamnoon Hussain further assured Pakistan’s close friendship and continued assistance to the Maldives.
President Yameen thanked his Pakistani counterpart for the excellent hospitality extended to himself and his delegation. President Yameen also extended an invitation to President Mamnoon Hussain to visit the Maldives at his earliest convenience.
At the meeting, both the leaders deliberated on enhancing trade and cultural exchanges, as well as expanding the scope of investment opportunities. Discussions were also held on supporting each other in the global arena.
