The new Ambassador of Colombia to the Maldives, H.E. Monica Lanzetta Mutis has presented her credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Thursday morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Mutis on the commencement of her term.
Meeting the new Ambassador afterwards, the President expressed his hopes of further strenghtening the good relations between the Maldives and Colombia during her tenure. President Yameen and the Ambassador also noted the importance of further enhancing these relations in areas of mutual interest.
Speaking at the meeting, the Colombian Ambassador said that it was an honour to be appointed as the Ambassador to the Maldives, and assured the President of her commitment to building on the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. She also congratulated Presidnt Yameen on the progress he has attained for the Maldives.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon.
