President Mohamed Nasheed gave interviews to Press Trust of India and BBC World Service Radio today.

In the two interviews held separately during President’s ongoing visit to India, the President praised the colourful opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010 held yesterday in Delhi.

President Nasheed said he was pleased with the way in which the historic and long-standing friendship between the Maldives and India was progressing.

Discussing the theme of environment, the President renewed hope of reaching an agreement between the nations to combat climate change. He also highlighted the importance of Indian leadership in ushering in a green technological revolution.
