President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that vocational training was as crucial as scholastic education, as we adapt to today’s contemporary world. The President made this remark while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Ahmadhiyya International School, held Wednesday evening.
Speaking at the function, the President noted that vocational training was included in the new academic curriculum introduced this year. He underscored that developing youth in technical fields was important for nation-building, and said that the only way to get a strong foothold in today’s evolving world was by advancing all areas.
Noting the lack of Maldivian experts in specialized fields, President Yameen said that providing vocational training to students was crucial for the country’s development. He also highlighted the high priority accorded by the Government, to facilitating entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.
