President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that ‎vocational training was as crucial as scholastic education, as we adapt to ‎today’s contemporary world. The President made this remark while ‎speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Ahmadhiyya International School, ‎held Wednesday evening.‎

Speaking at the function, the President noted that vocational ‎training was included in the new academic curriculum introduced this year. ‎He underscored that developing youth in technical fields was important for ‎nation-building, and said that the only way to get a strong foothold in ‎today’s evolving world was by advancing all areas.‎

Noting the lack of Maldivian experts in specialized fields, ‎President Yameen said that providing vocational training to students was ‎crucial for the country’s development. He also highlighted the high priority ‎accorded by the Government, to facilitating entrepreneurship opportunities ‎for youth. ‎
