The new Ambassador of Qatar to the Maldives, Mr. Rashid Shafea Saeed Shafea Al Fahaida Al Marri, has presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Wednesday morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Marri on the commencement of his term.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed ways to strengthening existing bilateral ties between the Maldives and Qatar, and explored avenues for further cooperation between the two countries in areas of trade and investments.
Ambassador Marri assured President Yameen of Qatar’s continued support and cooperation to the Maldives.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, and Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef.
