Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has stated that one of the most important aspects of the Government’s health policy is establishing mechanisms which will ensure the prevention of diseases in the country. The Vice President made this remark while speaking at the launching ceremony of the Grade 1 Health Screening Report, on Wednesday.
Continuing in this regard, Vice President Jameel noted that such reports would fuel the efforts of all Maldivians to live a healthier lifestyle, while also aiding in the prevention and better understanding of major diseases in their early stages. The Vice President further noted that reports such as these would greatly cut down expenses in the health sector, and assist in the prioritization of health services.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice President Jameel stated that it was the hope of the Government that the health screening programme, which was conducted earlier this year, would benefit all Maldivian students. The Vice President also noted that the programme would be re-conducted for secondary school students next year.
