President Mohamed Nasheed has today appointed Dr Ahmed Ali Sawad as the new Attorney General.
The swearing-in ceremony was held this morning at the President’s Office. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef.
Speaking after the presentation of the letter of appointment, President Nasheed expressed confidence that Dr Sawad would diligently fulfil his responsibilities as the Attorney General.
Dr Sawad previously served as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
