President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has attended the official opening of the Male’-Vilingili futsal pitch. At the ceremony held Sunday evening, Chief of Defense Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam, and Managing Director of the State Trading Organisation, Mr. Adam Azim officially handed over the futsal pitch to the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom handed over certificates of appreciation to all who were involved in the project.
The ceremony was concluded with a futsal match between the President’s executives’ team, and an MNDF team consisting of officers of the Maldives National Defense Force. The President’s team won the match. Chief of Defense Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam awarded the trophy to the winning team.
Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Umar Naseer won the man of the match. The trophy for the man of the match was awarded by Managing Director of STO, Mr. Adam Azim.
